The ideal candidate brings strong background in engineering or management, master-level familiarity with quantitative risk analysis (QRA), and a proven track record of developing robust risk registers for complex capital developments.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, implement, and maintain comprehensive Project Risk Management Plans tailored to project phases and contract structures.
  • Lead and facilitate multidisciplinary risk identification and assessment workshops with client teams, consultants, contractors, and key project stakeholders.
  • Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive Risk Registers, ensuring actionable mitigation plans, assigned risk owners, and clear close-out protocols.
  • Drive risk-based decision-making frameworks and report regularly to senior leadership on key project exposure, threat updates, and strategic opportunities.
  • Perform qualitative risk scoring (likelihood vs. impact) and prioritize project risks across technical, commercial, environmental, and contractual domains.
  • Conduct advanced Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) using Monte Carlo simulations to estimate schedule drag and cost contingency reserves (Cost & Schedule Risk Analysis - SRA/CRA).
  • Evaluate risk-adjusted project baselines and recommend contingency drawdowns or adjustments based on risk modeling output.
  • Monitor risk mitigation strategy progress, verifying that risk response plans are executed effectively by responsible teams.
  • Interface with project control, scheduling, and commercial teams to integrate risk analysis into delay claim management, change orders, and forecasting.
  • Generate executive-level risk dashboard reports, risk heat maps, and trend analyses for client updates and governance boards.

Requirements

  • Mandatory: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Management from an accredited institution.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Project Management, Risk Management, or Engineering Management.
  • (Note: Extensive, proven experience in project risk management on large capital/infrastructure projects may substitute for postgraduate studies).
  • Mandatory / Strongly Preferred: PMI-RMP (Risk Management Professional) or equivalent credential.
  • Advantage: Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Advantage: Hands-on proficiency in Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) & Monte Carlo simulation tools (e.g., Primavera Risk Analysis, @RISK, Safran).
  • Preferred: Completion of formal training/workshops in risk-based decision-making and project governance.
  • Overall Experience: Minimum 10+ years of professional experience in project delivery.
  • Dedicated Risk Experience: Minimum 3+ years dedicated exclusively to project risk management, risk assessments, and quantitative modeling.
  • Industry Experience (Mandatory): Proven track record working on infrastructure, utilities, or mega capital projects.
  • 0–3 Years: Site Engineer
  • 3–7 Years: Risk / Project Controls Engineer
  • 7–10 Years: Senior Risk Engineer / Risk Analyst
  • 10+ Years: Risk Management Lead
  • Expertise in risk register formulation, risk modeling methodology, and workshop facilitation.
  • Ability to translate complex quantitative risk data into actionable executive insights.
  • Deep understanding of risk interfaces between design, procurement, site construction, and commissioning.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder facilitation skills across cross-functional teams.
